Chai Mulled Wine

Is there anything better to warm you up on a cold winter's day than a nice hot mug of mulled wine? Warm your cockles with our very festive Vanilla Chai infused recipe.

For this recipe you can use Pukka's Organic Vanilla Chai tea or Original Chai tea. You can use any red wine but we recommend using a good quality organic merlot. By choosing a better quality organic wine your tipple will be higher in antioxidants and contain less sulphites which are very often associated with a hangover. Look out for the Soil Association logo or other certification partners on the bottle.

What you need:

  • 1 litre organic Merlot

  • 1 orange

  • 1 sliced lemon

  • 5 tea bags Pukka Vanilla Chai or Original Chai

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 20 cloves

What you do

  1. Take your organic merlot (the wine highest in the antioxidant resveratrol) and add to a large saucepan

  2. Add sliced organic lemons to the wine

  3. Cut two organic oranges in half and press cloves into the skin before adding to the pan

  4. Add the 5 tea bags of Pukka Vanilla Chai or Original Chai to the pan along with some grated nutmeg

  5. Warm the mixture gently making sure that it doesn't boil

  6. Add the three tablespoons of brown sugar and gently heat for 15 minutes

  7. Ladle into glasses and say cheers to the festive season!
